TOMB RAIDER – Official Trailer. Yes, it’s a new reboot on the classic video game trying to become an action movie franchise yet again. This time it’s stunning newcomer Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft in the simply named movie #TombRaider. The movie is directed by Roar Uthaug (The Wave), with Oscar-winner Graham King (The Departed), and also stars Dominic West (Money Monster, 300), Walton Goggins (The Hateful Eight, Django Unchained) and Daniel Wu (AMCยนs Into the Badlands).

Robert: Looks wonderful, fun and going back to the true adventure mode that the original video game had for this new reboot. Feels very exciting & fresh! I’m happy to see the reboot NOT focusing on Lara Croft as the rich bad ass bitch style that the 1st movie did with Angelina Jolie in Lara Croft: Tomb Raider. Alicia Vikander bring a youthful resurgence to the whole movie franchise without the need for extremely tight silver bodysuits.

Lara Croft, the fiercely independent daughter of a missing adventurer, must push herself beyond her limits when she finds herself on the island where her father disappeared.

From Warner Bros. Pictures and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Pictures, Tomb Raider is the story that will set a young and resolute Lara Croft on a path toward becoming a global hero. The film stars Oscar winner Alicia Vikander (Ex Machina, The Danish Girl) in the lead role, under the direction of Roar Uthaug (The Wave), with Oscar-winner Graham King (The Departed) producing under his GK Films banner. The filmยนs production begins on the heels of the 20th anniversary of the wildly popular videogame franchise from Square Enix, Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal.
